Xi’an CCBD Bollards
COMMERCIAL | Xi’an, China
Located at the heart of the Xi’an Central Culture Business District, this sprawling landscape masterplan spans multiple garden zones, requiring a lighting strategy that balances monumental scale with human-centric intimacy.
A central feature of the lighting scheme was the development of a bespoke bollard family, specifically engineered to navigate the project's complex topography. Moving away from traditional utilitarian lighting, these fixtures were designed to cast a natural, dappled light effect across the pathways. By mimicking the organic patterns of moonlight filtering through a forest canopy, the bollards create a cohesive, tranquil atmosphere that unifies the diverse planting zones while providing high-performance, directional illumination.
The result is a minimalist hardware solution that disappears into the environment, allowing the interplay of light and shadow to define the experience of the district’s public realm.
